TNI Bureau: At least 50 children in the age group of 4-6, were killed, as a school bus was hit by a speeding train in central Egypt. The incident occurred near Manfalut, 350 km from Cairo. The driver of the school bus was also killed.

More than a dozen are said to be injured. The Egyptian Transport Minister resigned after this tragic incident. The head of the Railways authority has also resigned from his post.

The man in charge of the level crossing was asleep and forgot to close it when the train passed through. The tragedy occurred due to his negligence. He was put under arrest.
