6 UK Returnees in India found positive for New CoronaVirus Strain

TNI Bureau:  The Union Health Ministry has confirned that 6 UK Returnees have tested positive for the new mutant variant of Coronavirus, which is 70% more infectious.

3 cases are identifed in Karnataka, while 2 patients are from Telangana. One is from Maharashtra.

Three of the patients are at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, two in CCMB, Hyderabad and one in NIV, Pune.

All the patients have been kept in single room isolation at the designated healthcare facilities by the respective state governments.

Close contacts of these persons have been out under isolation and contact tracing has been initiated.
