TNI Bureau: The riots death toll in Sri Lankan prison has gone up to 27 with the recovery of 11 more bodies. Sixteen bodies were at the hospital. The convicts were killed during rioting inside the Colombo prison yesterday.

The inmates were engaged in a firece battle with elite police commandos, leading to the casualties. At least one prison guard was among the deceased.
The prisoners had seized 82 guns, including automatic assault rifles from a prison armoury. Most of the weapons have been recovered so far. At least 13 police commandos and 4 soldiers were also among 43 people who were injured in the riot.
