TNI Bureau: The shocking discovery of nearly 1,700 errors in Odisha’s newly printed school textbooks is more than an embarrassment. It’s a serious betrayal of students and taxpayers.

From portraying Newton as a Pilot and identifying Hampi’s monuments as the Konark Temple to shifting Niyamgiri Hills to Jharkhand and renaming Ganjam as Brahmapur district, the blunders expose alarming and unpardonable negligence. Even Karnataka Assembly is shown as Odisha Assembly.

Crores of public money has gone into books riddled with mistakes, apparently produced in haste with poor editorial oversight. Accountability must be fixed and corrected textbooks issued immediately to protect students from misinformation.
