Cuttack gears up for Historic Baliyatra on November 28

TNI Bureau:  The historic ‘Baliyatra’ will begin in Cuttack on November 28 and continue till December 4. The ‘Baliyatra’, which always commences on Kartik Purnima day, will be spread over the 37-acre land in Mahanadi riverbed and the adjoining Killa Maidan.

Over 1,300 makeshift stalls would be erected at the Baliyatra. Tight security arrangements and fire preventive measures would be in place during the seven-day-long extravaganza.  The stalls at the venue would be insured for a sum of Rs 4 crore.

The Baliyatra stalls would sell goods, electronic gadgets, crafts and food items. A grand meenabazar would be the centre of attraction at Baliyatra, while several cultural programmes will be organised to enthral the audience.
