Parliamentary Committee snubs Twitter India Officials

Date:

TNI Bureau: The Parliamentary Committee on Information Technology led by BJP MP Anurag Thakur has rejected the Twitter India officials, including Mahima Kaul, saying they don’t have the authority to speak to the panel on various issues.

As Twitter India officials kept waiting outside the room, the panel made it clear that no junior officials won’t be entertained.Later, Mahima Kaul was seen pleading with Anurag Thakur outside the room, but in vain.

The committee has given 15 days to Twitter’s Global CEO Jack Dorsey to depose before it along with other senior officials.

Earlier, Twitter CEO had declined to appear before the Parliamentary Panel, citing “short notice”. Twitter has been under the scanner for its alleged bias towards the RW Twitter accounts and action against them.
