‘Godman’ Sant Rampal arrested in Hisar

Date:

imageAfter dodging the law for several days and openly lodging a war against the nation using his armed supporters, Sant Rampal finally surrendered before the police tonight at 9:21 PM. He was taken to Panchkula in an ambulance. He will be presented before the Hisar Court tomorrow. Rampal will be taken to the Punjab & Haryana High Court on Friday.

Earlier, the cops acted tough and arrested several of his aides. They evacuated over 10,000 people from the Satlok Ashram in Hisar. Over 200 people, including 105 cops were injured in the pitched battle yesterday. At least five women died inside the ashram after failing to get medical help. Another 1.5 year old infant too died.

Although Sant Rampal was arrested, many of his supporters are present inside the ashram along with illegal arms and ammunition. They had fired shots at the policemen yesterday. Sant Rampal was summoned by the High Court in connection with a murder case, but he defied the court directive and did not appear, forcing the HC issue a NBW against him and set a deadline for the Haryana government to present him before the court by Nov 21.

Many media people were injured in the police crackdown yesterday. The Haryana government has promised action against the guilty cops. A probe has been ordered to find out the reasons behind the death of four women inside The ashram.

Interestingly, a lot of people gathered outside the ashram soon after the arrest of Sant Rampal and hailed the Haryana police with slogans and anti-Rampal rants. They erupted into joy and celebrations.
