Siksha Sahayaks and Junior Teachers get a Pay Hike

After sweeping the ULB polls in Odisha, the ruling BJD government in Odisha, has given a gift to the Siksha Sahayaks and Junior Teachers in the state, by announcing a pay hike for them. It was announced by School & Mass Education Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda today.

Rabi-NandaThe Siksha Sahayaks will now get Rs 5,200 per month as against the existing Rs 4,000 per month. Similarly, the Junior Teachers will get Rs 7,000 per month. Currently, they are getting Rs 4,500 per month.

The pay hike will benefit 33,044 Siksha Sahayaks and 36,000 Junior Teachers across the state. The hike will take effect from November 01, 2013. The state government will have to bear an extra burden of Rs 176.76 crore per annum. It was a long standing demand, which has finally been fulfilled by the state government. The Odisha Siksha Sahayak Sangha has welcomed the government’s decision.
