ASI ends Gold Hunt at Unnao, gets Eggs on Face

Date:

The gold hunt in Unnao by the ASI aided by the Centre and Uttar Pradesh government, has finally come to an end on a disastrous note. The seer, Shobhan Sarkar and the governments, who played with the emotions of the people, should be held answerable to the public.

Unnao-FortThe weeks of digging at late Raja Ram Bux Singh’s fort in Daundiya Kheda village in Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh, yielded no results. Only the remains of some living quarters and pieces of pottery were excavated from the site.

The ASI abandoned its excavation after it became clear that no gold reserve is buried under the earth. Earlier, Shobhan Sarkar had claimed that the late King told him in the dream that there was a buried treasure inside the fort, which could amount to 1,000 tonnes of gold.

The public, government officials, OB vans and media people are returning home on a disappointing note.
