Srinivasan allowed to take charge as BCCI President
The Supreme Court has allowed N Srinivasan to take charge as the BCCI President, but formed a fresh probe panel to investigate into the IPL 6 spot-fixing allegations.
The three-member probe panel will be headed by Mukul Mudgal, former Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court. Other members of the panel are senior advocate Niloy Dutta and additional solicitor general L Nageswara Rao.
The panel will submit its report within four months. The BCCI has been strictly told not to influence or interfere in the probe. Srinivasan was elected unopposed as the BCCI President for a third year on September 29.
Srinivasan’s name was dragged into the spot-fixing and betting controversy, as his son-in-law and former CSK owner Gurunath Meiyappan was named as one of the key accused in the scandal.
