Barely a month after the Congress High Command snubbed Niranjan Patnaik and replaced him with Jayadev Jena as the Odisha PCC President, Jagdish Tytler too lost his job as the Odisha In-Charge. BK Hariprasad has been given the charge of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

Jagdish Tytler, who was held responsible for the September 6 incident in Odisha, which saw pitched battle in Bhubaneswar during a grand Congress rally and brought disrepute to the party at the national level, had courted a series of controversies during his tenure.

Tytler found it very difficult to win the trust of the Congress leadership after a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case against him was re-opened. With Niranjan-Tytler era coming to end in Odisha, the common people expect the Congress Party move ahead with a clear vision and promises for the people of the state.

From Odisha, Sushila Tiria found a place in the Congress Working Committee (CWC), while Bhakata Charan Das and Ramachandra Khuntia have been elevated as Secretaries. Bhakta Charan Das will be Hariprasad’s deputy to oversee the affairs of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand in addition to his role of AICC Spokesperson. Ramachandra Khuntia will be Digvijay Singh’s deputy in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Goa.
