Accusing the Government of breach of agreement, CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said, “If by tomorrow we do not receive a written agreement from the government, and the FIRs are not withdrawn and the protesters are not released, we will be forced to call for the protest again.”

The party has demanded a written assurance from the government on the withdrawal of FIRs lodged against protesters and the immediate release of those detained during the recent demonstrations.

According to CJP, verbal assurances are insufficient, and only a formal written commitment can restore confidence among protesters.

The demand came in the wake of reports that the cops have launched a crackdown on CJP protesters in Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal and other parts of the country.
