TNI Bureau: BJD president and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities and the reported attacks on protesting students.
After meeting BJD Rajya Sabha MPs, Naveen Patnaik described the situation as very serious and said several students had been injured during the protests. He added that BJD MPs had visited hospitals to meet the injured students and extend support to them.
He said the protests over the alleged examination paper leaks were no longer confined to Delhi and had spread to several cities across the country, as well as areas near Indian embassies abroad. Citing the alleged irregularities and the injuries suffered by students during the protests, he said Dharmendra Pradhan should step down from his post.
