TNI Bureau: The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards were announced in New Delhi, with Article 370 emerging as the Best Feature Film. Yami Gautam won the Best Actress award for her performance in the film, while Kartik Aaryan (Chandu Champion) and Mammootty (Bramayugam) shared the Best Actor honour.
Rajkumar Periasamy was named Best Director for Amaran. Kalki 2898 AD won the award for Best Feature Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Srikanth was selected as Best Hindi Film, and Captain Miller received the award for Best Film Promoting National and Social Values.
Sanjay Mishra won Best Supporting Actor for Bhakshak. Ropashree Varkady (Mithya) and Sachana Namidass (Maharaja) shared the Best Supporting Actress award.
The awards recognise the best films certified by the CBFC between January 1 and December 31, 2024. The winners were selected by an 11-member jury headed by Malayalam filmmaker Jayaraj.
