TNI Bureau: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the re-examination for NEET-UG 2026 will be conducted on June 21 after the May 3 examination was cancelled over alleged paper leak allegations.
The decision to hold the re-exam was taken with the approval of the Government of India and was announced through the agency’s official X handle on Friday. More than 22 lakh medical aspirants are expected to appear for the examination. Meanwhile, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that from next year, NEET will be conducted in a computer-based mode to ensure greater transparency, security, and efficiency in the examination process.
The cancellation of the earlier examination was announced on May 12, leaving students and parents awaiting clarity on the revised schedule and admission process.
The NTA clarified that candidates will not have to pay any additional fee for appearing in the re-examination. The fee already paid for the cancelled May 3 examination will remain valid, while candidates who choose not to appear for the re-exam will be eligible for a refund.
The agency advised candidates and parents to rely only on official communication channels for authentic updates related to the examination.
