TNI Bureau: Odisha’s self-help groups (SHGs) have brought laurels to the state by delivering an impressive performance at the West Bengal SARAS Mela, earning top honours in key categories. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi lauded the achievement and congratulated the women members for their dedication and enterprise.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister said he was pleased to learn about the outstanding success of Odisha SHGs at the national-level fair. The Agarbatti SHG from Jagatsinghpur district secured first position for recording the highest sales, while the Golden Grass SHG from Kendrapara won second position in the best product category.
Describing the achievement as a matter of pride for the state, the Chief Minister said the SHG members exemplify resilience, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, reflecting the true strength of Nari Shakti. He reaffirmed that the Odisha government remains firmly committed to women empowerment through promotion of self-reliance and expansion of women-led livelihood opportunities across the state.
The Chief Minister also extended heartfelt congratulations to the SHG members and appreciated the efforts of the concerned departments for their continuous support in enabling women to succeed on national platforms.
