After losing seven out of 10 matches, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scored a much-needed win against the Rajasthan Royals to keep their play-off alive. They are now placed seventh in the points table and need to win all their remaining matches.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 132/6 on a slow wicket. Shane Watson (35), Sanju Samson (40) and Owais Shah (24) were the top scorers. Senanayake took two wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 133, KKR lost Gambhir early. But, Bisla (29), Kallis (33*) and Yusuf Pathan (49*) batted brilliantly to see their team through. KKR reached 133/2 in 17.2 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Yusuf Pathan was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
