TNI Bureau: After a brief lull, tension prevailed in the Vani Vihar campus again after two non-students attacked a student yesterday afternoon. To avenge the attack, another group of students those youth in Shahid Nagar, triggering tension.

Around 200 Vani Vihar students later gheraoed the Shahid Nagar police station at around 10:30 PM and demanded action against the guilty. They also sought peace and harmony inside the campus. The police have been put on alert following the latest development.
The students demanded adequate security inside the Utkal University Campus ahead of the Convocation Ceremony and Foundation Day of the University.
