Unrest ends at Kalinga Hospital

The three-week long unrest amongst the employees and the Doctors of Kalinga Hospital in the capital city of Odisha is finally over today.

All the Doctors and the employees have joined back to their respective job and patient-care service has been restored.

While addressing to a press conference in the Hospital premises, Mr Manoranjan Patnaik, one of the founder members of the Hospital  says, “The authority has accepted the demands of the employees and the doctors.”

“Renowned Cardiothoracic Surgeon and former MD of the Hospital Dr. Sharada Patnaik has taken over as the new MD replacing Mala Chottopadhay”, he added.

Mr Patnaik, a US based Mechanical engineer and the Director of the Kalinga Hospital, who came all the way from US, has played a vital role in sorting out the entire issue.

Subhasis Swain, the Pharmacist and the General Secretary of the Employees’ Union, said to the media, “The unprecedented issue occurred regarding the salary, increment and ill behavior of some senior officials. However, our key demands have been fulfilled and action has been taken against the concerned officers.
