The aid to Pakistan will be reduced by $33 million. Interestingly, the doctor Shakil Afridi was sent to 33 years in jail on high treason charges. The US Senate decided to take away $1 million for every year of the doctor’s sentence.

The US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has already reacted strongly to Shakil’s sentencing and termed it as “unjust” and “unwarranted”.
