TNI Bureau: At least two people have been arrested in Bengaluru while trying to influence the Odisha Congress MLAs with bribe in the upcoming Rajya Sabha Polls, informed Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.
According to DK Shivakumar, in total 4 people had gone to Bengaluru to influence the Congress MLAs with “blank cheques”. While two of them have been arrested, two others fled from the spot, he added. They reported confessed to the bribery allegations.
The four names revealed by the Congress, included Birendra Prasad, Suresh, Ajit Kumar Sahu and Simanchal Mahakud.
Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka too confirmed the development and slammed BJP for resorting to such tricks to win Rajya Sabha election. He alleged that Rs 5 crore was offered to each MLA to vote for a particular candidate.
Meanwhile, Odisha BJP leaders dismissed the allegations and dubbed them as blatant lies by the Congress to save loss of face.
