TNI Bureau: The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) has launched a sharp political attack on the BJP, citing the controversial firing incident involving Titlagarh MLA Nabin Kumar Jain during a Ram Navami procession in Odisha.
In a strongly worded post, the TMC alleged that Odisha, once considered peaceful, has witnessed rising tensions under BJP’s influence. The party accused the BJP of misusing religious occasions to justify aggressive and divisive behavior, claiming that such actions undermine the true values associated with Lord Rama, symbolizing restraint, sacrifice, and tolerance.
The post further linked the Odisha incident to BJP’s political narrative in West Bengal, where the party has long championed “Poriborton” (change). TMC mocked this narrative, arguing that the BJP’s version of change promotes unrest rather than development, and risks turning cultural festivals into flashpoints of conflict.
Positioning itself as a defender of Bengal’s social harmony, the TMC asserted that the people of the state would resist any attempt to import what it described as a “culture of violence and polarisation.”
