SIT arrests an accused in Pari Muder Case

TNI Bureau:  The Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Senior IPS Arun Bothra, has arrested an accused in the sensational Pari murder case. The accused belongs to Jadupur village in Nayagarh district where the crime took place.

The accused has been arrested under Sections 376-A, 376-AB, 364, 302, 201 of the IPC. He is also charged under the Section 6 of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

The accused will be produced in the POCSO Court tomorrow.

5-year-old Pari was abducted on July 14, 2020. Her bones and body chopped in parts, stashed in a sack, were found in the backyard of her house on July 23, 2020.

The issue hogged the limelight only when Pari’s parents tried self-immolation outside the Odisha Assembly last month. As the matter took a huge political turn, triggering massive public outrage, CM Naveen Patnaik ordered a High Court-monitored SIT probe.
