TNI Bureau: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik and PCC President Bhakta Charan Das have expressed deep anguish over shocking gangrape and molestation cases in Bhubaneswar, calling these incidents extremely disturbing and reflective of rising lawlessness in the state capital.

In a social media post, Patnaik said criminals are becoming fearless while the Government is steadily losing credibility. He questioned how much further the law-and-order situation must deteriorate before the government becomes alert.

Odisha Congress President Bhakta Das in a post on X strongly criticized the State Government saying that one minor girl was gangraped on the pretext of job, while another young woman was molested in the busy IG Park.

Earlier yesterday, a minor girl was gangraped in Sahid Nagar, Bhubaneswar, on the pretext of job. Two people have been arrested in connection with this case. Similarly, a young Woman was molested by a group of men at IG Park, Bhubaneswar in front of her male friend last evening. Two accused have been arrested today.
