But the CSR Department of RSP has not allowed money to become a constraint in his studies. Under the professional scholarship scheme of RSP, in which meritorious students from the peripheral villages with a financially weak background are selected every year, Jay Prakash has been selected this year. The selected students are provided a scholarship of Rs.1,00,000/- for pursuing professional education.

10 such students including Joy were given merit scholarships of Rs. 50,000 each as the first installment by Rourkela Steel Plant. Among 10 students, five are girls. It is worth mentioning that including these 10 students, RSP has so far given this scholarship to 46 students pursuing professional courses. These 10 students and their parents have expressed their indebtedness to Rourkela Steel Plant management.
