Balasore recorded 24 incidents, while Khordha district, including Bhubaneswar, reported 16. Police arrested 298 people in riot cases and 61 in lynching incidents, yet chargesheets have been filed in less than half the cases.

The numbers point to a disturbing trend: violence appears to be rising faster, threatening peace and harmony.
