The move aims to curb widespread cheating and scams in the buying and selling of land, including the use of fake documents, multiple sales of the same property and manipulation of records. The QR code system will enable instant and tamper-proof verification.

Under the new system, every new or updated land patta or RoR will carry a QR code. Scanning the code with a smartphone will instantly display complete land details, including ownership history, full transaction records, encumbrances, if any, and other relevant information from the official database.

The initiative is expected to reduce reliance on traditional Encumbrance Certificates, as land information will be доступible digitally in real time.
