Rajya Sabha Secretariat Issues Privilege Breach Notice Against Cuttack Collector

TNI Bureau: The Rajya Sabha Secretariat has issued an office memorandum dated 11 February 2026 regarding a joint notice of breach of privilege against the District Collector of Cuttack, Odisha.

The notice was submitted to the Chairman of Rajya Sabha by MP Debashish Samantaray along with six other Members of Parliament — Muzibulla Khan, Sulata Deo, Sasmit Patra, Subhashish Khuntia, Niranjan Bishi and Manas Ranjan Mangaraj.

The MPs alleged that the District Collector did not invite a Member of Parliament to a government programme, which they said amounted to a breach of parliamentary privilege.

The memorandum has been forwarded to the Department of Personnel & Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, for appropriate action.
