Power Tariff hiked by 10 Paise per Unit in Odisha

Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) hiked power tariff by 10 paise per unit, which will put an extra burden on the consumers during summer season. The increase will be effective from April 1.

With the power tariff hike, the consumers will have to pay Rs 115 for 50 units, Rs 315 for 100 units, Rs 715 for 200 units, Rs 1215 for 300 units, Rs 1715 for 400 units, Rs 2255 for 500 units, Rs 2795 for 600 units and Rs 3335 for 700 units.

However, there will be no rise in tariff for irrigation, pumping and agriculture and allied agricultural activities. There has been a marginal rise from 380 paise to 400 paise for allied agro-industrial activities.

The high tension (HT) and extra high tension (EHT) consumers availing power through dedicated feeder from grid or primary sub-station will have to pay additional reliability surcharge 20 paise per unit.

The Reconnection charges have been increased for the defaulting consumers, who are not paying electricity bill in time.
