TNI Bureau: While slamming 3 Congress MLAs Ramesh Jena, Sofia Firdous and Dasarathi Gomango, confirming that they cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha polls, he expressed deep anguish that Sofia decided to breach the party discipline.

“Sofia is a daughter to us. I always wanted her to grow. She represented the minority community. She talked to me twice, met me and assured that she would stand by the party decision. However, I was shocked to see that she voted against the party’s common candidate,” said Bhakta Das.

Bhakta Das also expressed surprise that Ramesh Jena, who remained the undisputed leader of the Congress for years, decided go with the BJP against the party decision, damaging his relationship with the party.

Bhakta also confirmed that all those MLAs who cross-voted in Rajya Sabha polls, will be expelled from Congress.
