Under “Operation Cyber Kavach,” the Cyber Crime Wing of Commissionerate Police has dismantled three major cyber fraud syndicates operating in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, arresting 10 accused persons.
The crackdown identified and deactivated multiple mule bank accounts used to channel fraudulent funds, striking at the financial backbone of the networks.
The accused allegedly used platforms such as Telegram and Binance, along with cryptocurrency transactions, to carry out nationwide scams for over two years. Police seized luxury vehicles, 37 debit cards, 16 cheque books, high-end electronic gadgets, and several benami SIM cards.
The primary objective of Operation Cyber Kavach is to cripple the financial infrastructure of cybercriminals. Citizens can report cyber fraud by calling 1930 or visiting cybercrime.gov.in.
