TNI Bureau: Veteran BJP leader LK Advani had a lot of surprises on his 85th birthday today. BJP President Nitin Gadkari has visited him at his residence. Apart from this, Russian ambassador Alexander Kadakin stole the thunder by touching the feet of the Octogenerian.
Advani sought to clear the air, saying he has no Prime Ministerial ambitions, saying, “The party and the country have given me so much, it is much more than becoming the prime minister.”
It is a known fact that Advani is unhappy with the continuance of Nitin Gadkari as the party President in the wake of serious graft charges against him. He did not buy the argument put forth by the BJP that Gadkari had done no “legal or moral” wrong and even skipped the BJP Core Group meeting that gave clean chit to the BJP President.
