OERC Chairperson Pradeep Jena Resigns on Personal Grounds

TNI Bureau: The Odisha government accepted the resignation of former IAS officer Pradeep Kumar Jena from the post of Chairperson of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission on personal grounds. He will relinquish the post with effect from May 25, 2026.

Jena, a retired IAS officer, was serving as the head of OERC and was responsible for overseeing key regulatory and policy matters related to electricity distribution and tariff management in Odisha. His resignation marks an important administrative change in the state’s power sector.

The Energy Department said Jena had submitted his resignation citing personal reasons. Officials added that the process for appointing a new Chairperson for OERC will begin soon to ensure continuity in the commission’s regulatory functions.
