National Institute of Science Education & Research (NISER), which was dedicated by the Prime Minister in this month during his visit to Odisha on Feb 7, has got approval from the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to conduct courses on its campus.

According to a notification issued by MHRD on Wednesday, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has accorded permission to Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai to start an off campus centre at NISER-Bhubaneswar.
Now, NISER has been allowed to conduct academic course and programmes. UGC will review the centre biennially for six years and subsequently after every five years subject to terms and condition set by the UGC.
