1) Chennai Building Collapse: Four Odias confirmed dead. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the family members of the deceased. The three injured labourers will get Rs 50,000 each for their treatment.

2) The BJP Legislature Party of the Odisha Assembly will meet on July 4 to elect its leader. Central Observer Prakash Javdekar and BJP’s Odisha in-charge Arun Singh will attend the meeting. The BJP has 10 MLAs in Odisha Assembly.

3) Dr. Sitaram Mohapatra, Head of the Department of Pathology at the SCB Medical College & Hospital, who is in the centre of controversy following the allegations of sexual harassment of junior women doctors, has been transferred to the Health department with immediate effect. A departmental inquiry is already initiated against him. The accused Professor is still on the run.
