1) Commuters who use town bus service in Bhubaneswar, will have a great relief, as they will have a Smart Card to pay their fares in place the tradition cash or coins. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik launched the Smart Card system for City Buses run under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) yesterday.

2) The Odisha Women’s Relay team won the 400m gold at the 54th National Inter State Senior Athletic Championship 2014 in Lucknow. The comprising of Purnima Hembram, Jauna Murmu, Srabani Nanda and Dutee Chand clocked 46.26 seconds to win the gold.

3) The Odisha Government will launch the 102 National Ambulance Services (NAS) under the Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) from July 2014. The service will assist pregnant women and ill infants.
