Odisha lose to Uttar Pradesh, Out of Ranji Trophy

TNI Bureau: Odisha’s hopes of making it to the quarterfinals of Ranji Trophy, were completely dashed after they lost to Uttar Pradesh by 43 runs. Uttar Pradesh have already qualified for the quarterfinals by topping their group.

Chasing a victory target of 144, Odisha resumed from the overnight score of 54/4. It was expected that the batsmen would put some resistance. But the team bowled out for 101 and lost the match by 43 runs. Govind Podder was the top scorer with 36. Imtiyaz Ahmed took five wickets, while Ankit Rajpoot took three wickets. Ali Murtaza took two wickets.

Scores: Uttar Pradesh 160 & 111. Odisha 127 & 101.
