Reports: Call Tariff Hike on Cards

TNI Bureau: Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea, the leading telecom companies of the country, announced to hike voice call tariffs in a phased manner across all circles. However, Airtel made it clear that the prices will not be hiked for now but the promotional offers will be withdrawn.

Airtel will reduce free minutes by 10-25 per cent. Reports said that the call tariff will be increased for prepaid customers by Rs 5-15. However, the company gave no details of the price hike.

Aditya Birla group’ Idea has increased voice call tariffs in some circles by withdrawing promotional offers. However, no company gave the details of the call price increase. It has to be noted that now the calls will not be cheaper for people of India. The voice call rates will be hiked phase by phase across the country.
