No Relief for Zee Editors, as Bail Hearing Deferred

TNI Bureau: Zee TV editors Sudhir Chaudhary (Zee News) and Samir Ahluwalia (Zee Business) received a major blow, as their bail hearing was deferred till Monday. They will have to stay in jail till then.

The editors, who are facing charges in connection with the extortion allegations made by Jindal Group, were earlier sent to 14-day judicial custody. They are currently lodged in Tihar Jail.

They have been booked under Section 384 (extortion), 420 (cheating), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
