Pak Parliament bans Ads with Indian Models

Date:

TNI Bureau: A Pakistani parliamentary committee has banned the ads that feature Indian models. The committee also imposed restrictions on the female TV anchors in the country, saying they should appear on TV putting veil on their heads.

The Standing Committee for Information and Broadcasting of the National assembly had made the proposal to restrict the craziness for open culture in the country.

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira also gave a nod to the proposal for promoting Muslim culture in Pakistan. However, the matter is pending in the court.

The move was taken after the fans in Pakistan increased for the Indian celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Kareena Kapoor, Kajol, Katrina Kaif and Shahrukh Khan, who feature in a number of ads in the neighbouring country.
