No Change in LPG Refill Booking Norms: Petroleum Ministry

Date:

TNI Bureau: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has clarified that there has been no change in LPG refill booking norms, dismissing reports and social media claims suggesting revised timelines.

In a statement, the ministry said that the existing rules for booking LPG refills remain unchanged and continue as before. It noted that misinformation was being circulated regarding new booking intervals, which is incorrect.

As per the current system, the minimum gap between two LPG refill bookings continues to be 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, irrespective of the type of connection.

The ministry also urged citizens not to believe or spread rumours and to avoid panic booking, emphasising that adequate LPG stocks are available across the country.

The clarification comes amid recent concerns over fuel supply disruptions and increased demand, which had led to confusion among consumers. The government reiterated that supply chains remain stable and there is no cause for concern regarding domestic LPG availability.

The Centre has been closely monitoring the situation and continues to take steps to ensure uninterrupted supply to households.
