Nitish Kumar Expresses Desire to Enter Rajya Sabha

TNI Bureau: Veteran leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his interest in contesting the upcoming elections to the Rajya Sabha, signalling a new chapter in his long political career. In a message shared on social media, the senior leader reflected on his decades-long association with the people of Bihar and thanked them for their continued trust and support.

Nitish Kumar wrote that for more than two decades the people of Bihar have stood by him, enabling him to serve the state with dedication and sincerity. He credited the public’s faith for the progress Bihar has achieved in recent years, stating that the state today presents “a new dimension of development and dignity.” The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to the people for repeatedly placing their confidence in his leadership.

Revealing a personal aspiration, Nitish Kumar said that since the beginning of his parliamentary journey he had nurtured a desire to become a member of both Houses of Parliament, in addition to serving in both Houses of the Bihar Legislature. With that objective in mind, he has now expressed his wish to become a member of the Rajya Sabha in the upcoming election.

The veteran leader also sought to reassure the people of Bihar that his relationship with them would remain unchanged even if he moves to the Upper House of Parliament. He promised that his commitment to the development of the state would continue and that he would keep working towards the goal of building a developed Bihar.

Nitish Kumar further stated that he would continue to provide full cooperation and guidance to the new government that takes charge in the state. His remarks indicate that even if he shifts to a parliamentary role, he intends to remain actively engaged in Bihar’s political and developmental trajectory.

The post has sparked political discussions in Bihar, as Nitish Kumar has been a central figure in the state’s politics for decades. His possible entry into the Rajya Sabha could mark a strategic shift in his political role while allowing him to continue influencing policy and governance at both the state and national levels.
