TNI Bureau: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated the formal process to elect its national working president, Nitin Nabin, as the party’s next national president. The election is scheduled to be held on January 20, party sources said
As part of the process, all Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States, along with State unit presidents and national office-bearers, have been asked to be present in New Delhi. The nomination process will take place on January 19, followed by the formal election the next day.
To strengthen Mr. Nabin’s candidature, three sets of nomination papers will be filed. One set will carry the signatures of more than 20 BJP State presidents. Another will be endorsed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with senior leaders Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and J.P. Nadda. The third set will be signed by members of the BJP National Council.
