Ravindra Jadeja replaced Yuvraj Singh, while Piyush Chawla replaced Zaheer Khan. India is playing three regular spinners and one all-rounder spinner (Jadeja) in this match.

Compton was the first to go. He scored just 3. Cook was a bit unlucky to be given LBW. He perished at 1. Umpire Dharmasena, who gave Cook out, had not given Jonathan Trott out, even it was a plumb LBW. England were 30/2 when reports last received.
