TNI Bureau: Adarsha Kumar Behera, an Odia youth from Jagatsinghpur district who had gone missing in Sudan, has returned safely to India following efforts by the Government of India.

Adarsha, a resident of Kotakana village under Tirtol police station in Jagatsinghpur district, had been working in Sudan since 2022. He was reported missing from El Fasher city in North Darfur State, prompting concern from his family and the Odisha government.

With the intervention of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the support of international interlocutors, Adarsha was traced and brought back to India. The Odisha government has been in constant touch with his family and is providing all necessary assistance.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed happiness over Adarsha’s safe return and thanked the Ministry of External Affairs for its prompt and effective action. After learning about Behera’s disappearance, the Chief Minister had directed the state government to write to the MEA, seeking urgent intervention for his rescue.

The Resident Commissioner of Odisha in New Delhi had also coordinated with the MEA and the Indian mission concerned to ensure Behera’s safety and repatriation.

Adarsha’s family had earlier informed authorities that he had gone missing and that there was no contact with him for a considerable period. His safe return has brought relief to his family and the state administration.
