MEA Dismisses Claims of US Using Indian Ports Against Iran

TNI Bureau: The Ministry of External Affairs has clarified that reports claiming the United States is using Indian ports for military operations against Iran are completely false. Responding to speculation circulating on social media, the government said no such permission has been granted and urged people not to believe or spread misinformation.

The clarification was issued through the official fact-check handle of the ministry after certain posts suggested that American forces were using Indian facilities as part of operations linked to the ongoing Iran conflict. The ministry stated clearly that these claims have no basis and do not reflect India’s position.

The issue also triggered political reactions, with Congress leader Supriya Shrinate questioning the reports and seeking clarity from the government.

By issuing a prompt response, the government attempted to dispel confusion and reaffirm that India is not allowing its ports to be used for any military actions related to the conflict.

The clarification comes at a time when tensions in West Asia continue to escalate, drawing global attention to the region’s security situation.

A day before, American Submarine sank Iranian Naval Ship IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean, using a torpedo while it was returning home after participating in a naval exercise in India. At least 87 Sailors were killed while many went missing.
