Maoist Menace returns to Nabarangpur

TNI Bureau: After a brief lull, Maoists have returned with a bang and struck in the Raighar block of Nabarangpur district. They gunned down a ward member, suspecting him to be a police informer. The common people haven’t yet forgotten the gruesome killing of Jagabandhu Majhi, former Umerkote MLA, whose murder mystery still remain unresolved.

The latest incident occurred at Rajpur village of Raighar block. The Maoists dragged Rohidas Gond (35) from his house and killed him by shooting at him. The killing took place within the limits of Kundei Police Station.

The Mainpur division of the CPI (Maoist) is said to be behind the killing of the ward member. The Maoists left a letter on the spot, accusing the deceased of being a police informer.
