Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Pradyumna Bal Memorial Hospital has started smart consultation through Telemedicine from Monday. Dr. Shankar Acharya, eminent spine surgeon from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), New Delhi gave consultation through ultra modern telemedicine link established by KIMS. Dr. Acharya gave consultancy through video conference in presence of patient and doctors in KIMS for better treatment. This facility is the first of its kind in Odisha.
Telemedicine service will be provided once in a week for the time being. It will be provided daily later on. In the near future it will be extended to all other departments and linked to all districts of Odisha. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between KIMS and SGRH, New Delhi to provide Telemedicine service recently.
