Journalist found Dead in Bhubaneswar

TNI Bureau: Senior journalist Prakash Rao was found dead at his residence in VSS Nagar on Thursday under mysterious circumstances. Police recovered the body and sent it for the autopsy. Rao was living alone since 10 days after his second wife’s death.

The residents at the area said that the door of the home where Rao was staying was closed from inside. They informed police in afternoon. Rao was living under depression after his wife Swati died 10 days ago.

The 47-year-old Rao was the first journalist, who had started web journalism in Odisha. He was running a news website after leaving an English daily “New Indian Express”. Rao is a known face in crime reporting and he had a wide experience in different beats of journalism. Earlier, he was working with Odia leading newspaper Dharitri.

Rao was the topper of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). He had also worked as a guest faculty at Institute of Media Studies (IMS), Bhubaneswar.
