IPL 6: Kolkata win by 46 Runs

Kolkata beat Pune by 46 runs in the IPL held at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium on Thursday night. Pune had a chance to win, but the Kolkata bowlers picked the wickets at regular intervals to restrict them at 106.

Kolkata’s Gautam Gambhir hit his fifty and took his troops forward. The team scored 152/6 (20.0 Ovs) after winning the toss. Chasing the target Pune lost all the wickets. Angelo Mathews tried his level best but ran out of partners. At the end of the tournament, Kolkata managed a convincing win.

Gambhir was the MoM for his knock of 50 off 44 balls. The team played a smart cricket yesterday.

In another match played in the evening at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Rajasthan Royals beat Kings XI Punjab by 8 wickets.

Punjab batted first but were restricted at 145/6 (20.0 ov). Chasing the target Rajasthan lost Dravid very early but Rahane and Watson steadied the ship with a 66-run stand. Watson departed at a crucial juncture but Rahane continued and brought up his half-century. Samson gave him great support as the two played some sumptuous shots to take the team to a victory. At the end of the game, they were the winner. They scored 147/2 in 19 ovs. Kevon Cooper was the MoM for his brilliant bowling performance. He took 3 wickets giving 23 runs in the tournament. Now Jaipur moved up the second spot in the table.
